Tour Information

Our 4WD safaris and tours visit isolated outback and undisturbed wilderness areas, normally inaccessible to large multi-seat coaches. Due to the remoteness of these regions, conditions will not be exactly the same as at home.

Your companions will be from every walk of life, of all ages and usually with a spirit of adventure, a sense of humour, and a desire to get off the beaten track to enjoy the wilderness, to discover the real Australia.

Careful planning ensures fresh sourced meals and we favour traditional open fire and camp oven cooking. Breakfast consists of cereals, toast and tea or coffee. Lunch, bush picnic style, usually a salad or sandwiches and fruit and tea, coffee or cordial. Dinner consists of main course, desert and tea or coffee. All fares include meals as per itinerary code – (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch, (D) Dinner. Please check itineraries.

Passenger Information

• Seat Rotation: On all tours and safaris, passengers rotate seats each day, to give everyone a chance to enjoy forward and window seating.
• Medical/Dietary: We require all passengers to truthfully and 100% accurately complete our Passenger Booking form and Medical and Dietary form. We can cater for food allergies, Vegetarians, Coeliac & Lactose Intolerance. Diet requirements should be based on a medical condition. Diet fads and personal preferences cannot be catered for.
• What To Bring: Casual gear is a must. We suggest you will most likely need 4 or 5 changes of clothing: T/Shirts, jeans, shorts, bathers, bath and hand towel, a pair of rubber soled shoes (for walking in creeks and for showering) or joggers, a warm jumper or jacket, hat, torch, sleeping bag, pillow (camping only), insect repellent and toiletries. A tracksuit or similar is most useful too. Please avoid articles of white or light clothing as the dust may stain.
• Luggage: One small bag (must be soft with no wheels or hard corners) which should not exceed 10 kilos as space is limited. One piece of hand luggage (the size of an airline bag) is advisable for everyday use. Don’t forget your camera. Washing can be done daily on overland safaris.
• Smoking: As per Government Regulations, smoking, including “E” cigarettes is not permitted in the vehicles. Ample stops provide time for “smoking breaks” en route.

Concessions And Child Fares: Children 14 years and under, on all overland camping safaris 15% off adult fare. Children 14 years or under, on all land/sea, land/air camping safaris 10% off adult fares. Child fares on accommodated tours on application. Group discounts on application.

Payments

• Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $500 per person is required together with a completed passenger booking form. Upon receipt of both items, a confirmation will be sent to you.
• Layby Payments: Hassle free lay-by service available, prices frozen with first payment, then pay as you go. Final payment is due 60 days before departure.
• Final Payments: Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure. Whilst prices could be subject to change without notice, upon final payment, all tour fares are fixed and not subject to change. For tours departing in less than 60 days, full and immediate payment is required. Fares are shown in Australian currency.

Inclusions & Exclusions

• Included: Meals, except where otherwise stated in your itinerary; ship/ferry fares were applicable, tented and any other accommodation on share basis and entrance fees as per itinerary.
• Not Included: Accommodation, meals, fares, fares en route from home cities. Meals, unless specifically mentioned on day to day itinerary, sleeping bags, pillows, stretcher beds (available for hire) and any personal items such as alcohol or soft drinks, newspapers, telephone, laundry, souvenirs and personal holiday insurance.

Cancellations

Bookings cancelled more than 60 days prior to departure forfeit the deposit paid, otherwise the following cancellation fees apply:

• Cancellations between 59-30 days prior to departure will incur a 50% cancellation fee of total tour cost.
• Cancellations 29 days or less prior to departure will incur 100% cancellation fee of total tour cost.

Unused Tour Sectors: If a passenger fails to join a tour/safari or joins in after departure, or leaves it prior to completion, no refunds can be made. No refunds will be made in respect of any part of the tour including food, excursions, accommodation, etc., that are not used or undertaken.

Transfer Of Tour Dates

Should you wish to transfer to another of our tours, a handling fee or cancellation fee may be charged, if changing within full payment period.

Insurance

Oz Tours and/or its agents are not responsible or liable for loss or damage or theft of luggage or personal belongings whatsoever or for personal injury, accidents, hospitalisation, illness or medical expenses. Most claims arise from personal or close-family illness before holiday departure, resulting in cancellation charges.

We strongly recommend all intending passengers consult their travel or insurance agent and take out adequate travel insurance to cover any event and give full travel protection.
